ART FIRST.
My approach to every project is art and authenticity first. Along with close collaboration with clients, I let creativity drive the process. It’s my view that audiences today crave unique, authentic, and visually appealing content, whether in ads, campaigns, or personal content. I strive to deliver these kinds of products to all my clients. From promo videos to a wedding photo gallery, I provide a variety of services that center around the principle that when art and authenticity come first, audiences and client satisfaction will follow.
ABOUT ME.
Born and raised in rural South Dakota, I moved to the Washington, DC area in 2014, where I’m based. An Emmy-winning editor and producer, I work full-time in the cable news industry at CNN, and previously worked at the U.S. Department of State, where I created video content for U.S. embassies across the world and traveled with the Secretary of State on official visits. JDCS is my freelance business where I’ve worked with clients of all types, like Georgetown University, Microsoft, Disney, the State Department, the World Bank, the Radio & Television Correspondents’ Association, SCOUT Bags, Reveal Technology, multiple political candidates and inaugural committees, NGOs and local civic organizations, weddings of all sizes and countless individual clients.
I earned degrees from the University of South Dakota (BA ‘14) and Georgetown University (MA ‘16), where I developed a passion for the intersection of media and politics.
On top of my digital art pursuits, I am a fine art oil painter and a jewelry designer – see more of that work above under More Ventures! My hobbyhorses include discussing media literacy, civic education, and the expanding media landscape. I love art, politics, bourbon and running along the many miles of beautiful trails in our Nation’s Capital.
